Q: Hi to all! I have been offered a sponsorship to Tasmania. I would love any information good or bad about life in TAZ!! Should I take the leap to remote TAZ or hold out for offers elsewhere in Australia?
A: Tasmania is a really lovely place, but it's a bit quiet and out of the way when compared to anywhere on the mainland east coast. Tassie is clean, peaceful and beautiful, though it's a long way south and thus pretty cold (to spoilt Australians) and wet in winter and if that's a lifestyle that appeals, you should go for it. If you're more into the bright lights, night life, warm weather type of lifestyle, you should hold out for offers in Brisbane or perhaps Sydney BUT, I doubt that you'll hate Tassie. If the offer is a good one, why not go there, see how you like it and perhaps move on in a year or so. Getting to Oz is your main hurdle - the rest is easy once you get here.
