how do you use the transperth bus in perth?

Q: hi. i'm new here in perth. i want to know how the public bus works here in perth. how does one get to ride around here?. i know it's quite a simple question but the website is not helpful to me. it's very different from the public buses where i come from. please help. thanks

A: Go to the bus stop, hail the bus as it approaches by sticking out your arm, get on the bus and buy a single trip ticket from the driver is the simplest way to start. Once you get familiar with it, you might find one of the other tickets more suited to your needs, such as the all day ticket etc. http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/ has the information on the routes etc and you will find the information on tickets and fares under the Tickets and Fares tab. Or phone them (for the cost of a local call) on 13 62 13 for anything that isn't obvious from the WWW site.
