experiences in perth??

Q: anybody who lives in perth or has visited there could you please tell me what the place is like to live in like cost of living/salary?

A: Having lived in many different countries and cities, I would have to say Perth is definitely the best but of course it depends on what you enjoy doing and what type of work you are looking for. Perth's average rent is around $360 per week but for the average 4 bedroom home it's around $400 - 450 in a nice suburb. Wages vary depending on occupation but there is an abundance of work in most sectors at present. A 20yr old welder can easily earn 60k per year, a safety manager at the mines is on around 120k per year and an admin assistant can range from 38k to 80k plus. It has some magnificent places to visit like the south west, Broome, and the Kimberley's. The nightlife is pretty good and caters for all tastes, although some of the bigger entertainers don't make it over here due to cost and distance. The beaches are some of the best in the world and not over crowded. In fact I often sit at the local marina and marvel at how others pay thousands to take holidays on the French Riviera and such like and I've got it all in my own backyard. Sadly the one thing we don't have is snow and mountains but hey you can't have everything in life. Check out some of the following websites for more info. www.cityofperth.wa.gov.au www.perthtouristcentre.com.au perthcam.bankwest.com.au If you get to Perth make sure you take a jet boat ride on the Swan River that will wake you up for sure. Also check out Fremantle and Hillaries Marina. The best thing about Perth is our isolation keeps many people from coming here, so it's not overcrowded....yet!
