Q: Just wondering who has moved to Perth from Sydney, and if you sold your household items to re purchase them again once there? I am of the opinion that it would be more expensive to purchase goods again once in Perth, and I would never get close to what I paid for my household items. We are a family of 4 & currently live in a 5 b/r home - we have alot of stuff! Obviously a garage sale would be on the cards to rid us of unused/wanted items Any ideas would be great, especially from those that have done it!

A: well.... you would be able to get your gear moved across for well under the price of replacement gear. A removalist would pack your gear and put the container on the train. The other option to look at is what is called a "backload" but DO NOT use any company that says that they specialize in backloads. What a backload is, is where a truck has a load going one way and doesn't have a load waiting for the return trip. They would much rather have a load to take to help transport costs than to drive a truck the distance without a load on board. Can sometimes be about half the price of a normal load. Also.. make sure that you pay for "roll-over insurance" out of your own pocket. If you don't pay for that insurance and the truck is involved in an accident and the load is damaged or written off you will lose all of your gear on the truck
