A: You can't get hamsters in Australia, but you can get guinea pigs which are similar. Mice, rats, and rabbits are other cute small pets. Any pet store should have all those. When I bought guinea pigs, I think they were about $15 each but I'm not too sure. Mice are very cheap, rats are probably the same price as guinea pigs. Rabbits I think would be the most expensive.
