Q: i have been offered a job in perth and am looking to buy a place somewhere not too far away from the city? please suggest nice places to live in...convenient, nice cafes, restaurants, not too quiet and not too busy....thanks!

A: It largely depends on what you're looking for, and the kind of price range. Also how do you define "not too far from the city"? That could mean walking distance to 30 minutes drive. REIWA stands for "Real-estate in WA", and their website has every property on sale. As for nice suburbs with cafes, restaurants, etc, look at East Perth, West Perth, Mount Lawley, Fremantle (it's a good half an hour from the city), South Perth, Northbridge (nightclubbing area), Leederville, Victoria Park (has some rough pockets), Applecross, Como, Subiaco. In general the western suburbs, and river-side suburbs are more 'trendy' and expensive.
